The Department of Tamil at TSA Arts, and Science, Tamil College is committed to academic excellence in Tamil language, literature, and cultural studies. The undergraduate program in Tamil offers students a strong foundation in classical and modern literary works, along with opportunities for research, creative writing, and cultural engagement.
The department has been recognized with the “Best College” title by the Agricultural Scientific Tamil Society, New Delhi, reflecting its contributions to Tamil scholarship and educational impact.
The curriculum is designed to cover a broad spectrum of Tamil studies - ranging from Sangam literature and medieval texts to contemporary writing and media. Students also engage with Tamil folklore, grammar, linguistics, and phonetics, helping them develop both analytical and expressive skills.

Admission to the TSA BA Tamil Program is open to candidates who have completed Higher Secondary Education (10+2) from a recognized board.
To support academic merit, the college provides scholarships based on performance in +2 examinations:
80% – 84.99%
